A skilled coach asks the right questions.
Just as elite athletes around the world rely on coaches, it’s increasingly common for top leaders and leadership teams to seek coaching. Why? This week, we came across an insightful story that contrasts two types of advice. It described the experiences of a business founder with two very different advisors: one was a confident, self-assured partner, and the other was a thoughtful, questioning mentor.
The story posed a critical question: How do you distinguish between helpful guidance and advice that might lead you astray? Both advisors were experienced and had strong opinions, yet their approaches differed significantly.
